Scandola, Piana and Girolata require a much longer run north. Small semi-rigid boats feel direct and lively; larger boats give more shelter and room. Check the actual vessel and whether the trip includes a shore stop.
Bonifacio by sea is also a full-day commitment. If you dislike long boat rides, drive or stay nearer the destination instead. Always read the meeting point: Ajaccio and Porticcio departures are both sold under Ajaccio.
Good to know: Porticcio is across the gulf, not central Ajaccio. Scandola and Bonifacio are long days from here, and nearer bases exist for both. Choose Ajaccio for convenience, not because it is the shortest route.
