Ajaccio is Napoleon Bonaparte’s birthplace and the main departure point for trips around its gulf, the Sanguinaires Islands and longer west-coast cruises toward Scandola and Piana.
Some do, but they are long full-day outings. Porto, farther north, is much closer to Scandola. Always check the named departure port before booking.
You can reach the Parata headland by road and walk to the viewpoint, but the offshore islands themselves are seen properly on a boat trip.
No. It is a substantial journey by winding road or a full-day sea excursion. Ajaccio is not the nearest base for Bonifacio.
The old town, Maison Bonaparte, market, Fesch Museum and Saint-François beach are central. Buses serve beaches on the Route des Sanguinaires.
Departures vary between Ajaccio’s ports and Porticcio across the gulf. The booking page’s meeting point is more reliable than the destination in the tour title.
